The March 21 special election is just a little over a week away. This election is very special to Fayette County. Fayette County has an opportunity to elect a new type of county commissioner. Emory Wilkerson is the right choice.

Emory is well educated, articulate, and a fine gentleman. His experience as a mediator will serve the board well. He has worked in the community for many years in many capacities: school volunteer, officer of his church, officer of the Republican Party, and most importantly the head of a fine Christian family with four cultured daughters and a lovely wife. He is an example of what all Fayette Countians admire. His community involvement shows his character. The other candidates cannot match his record.

I am asking the citizens to look at the qualifications of the candidates and vote based on those qualifications, not the color of someone’s skin. I am confident that the above-average citizens of Fayette County are educated and advanced so that we will not consider the candidate’s race in this election.

Look at all the candidates and then vote Emory Wilkerson March 21.
