Optimist Club essay winners

The Optimist Club of Peachtree City presents this year’s winners of their annual Essay Contest. Winners presented their essays to club members on Feb. 6 at their club meeting. The theme for this year’s contest was “I’m Unique Because…” Pictured above left to right are the winners: Congratulations to Andrew Nemchik, Third place winner from Our Lady of Mercy High School; Suzana Bowling, First place winner from Our Lady of Mercy High School and Christine Dunphy, Second place winner from Sandy Creek High School. Bowling will be competing at the next level of competition. The Essay contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. In addition to developing skills for written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a college scholarship of up to $5,000.
