Nicole Mathis, a senior at Sandy Creek High School, took 3rd place in the T. N. Retif Voice Competition held recently at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Ga. Mathis, a member of the Sandy Creek Select Women's Chorus, has been offered a full room and board scholarship to Brewton-Parker for the fall of 2006. She has also been awarded a SkillsUSA scholarship to Johnson & Wales University, Charlotte campus. A member of the SCHS Model UN Team, Mathis was named the Most Diplomatic Delegate at the Dec. 2005 Georgia State University Model UN Competition. She is the daughter of Nate and Danielle Mathis of Fayetteville.
