A man responsible for burglaries in Palmetto and Fairburn turned himself in to Palmetto Police Tuesday.

David Lacroix, 20, of Decatur, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of criminal trespass in the incidents, according to Palmetto Det. John Cooper.

Cooper said Wednesday that Lacroix turned himself in after learning of the burglary investigation. Cooper said Lacroix confessed to burglarizing the One-Stop Package Store in Palmetto Jan. 29. Lacroix entered the business after throwing a large boulder through a glass window at approximately 2:30 a.m., said Cooper. Lacroix stole a large number of lottery tickets and fled, Cooper said.

Lacroix was charged with criminal trespass after confessing to a Jan. 21 incident at D. J.’s Grocery in Palmetto, Cooper said. Lacroix admitted to arriving at the store at approximately 2:30 a.m. and removing a large boulder from his Pontiac Bonneville and throwing it at a store window. Lacroix left the scene when the boulder bounced off the store’s Plexiglas window, Cooper said.

Lacroix was also charged by Fairburn Police in a late night burglary Jan. 21 at Citgo Quick Mart at Milam Road and Ga. Highway 74. Det. David Bedford said entry was gained by a large rock that had been thrown through the store window. The only item reported missing ini the burglary was a 12-pack of beer, Bedford said. He added that Lacroix had been monitored on the store’s video camera prior to the burglary.

Lacroix is being housed in Fulton County Jail.
