The Landmark Christian War Eagle varsity baseball team is off to 7-0 start, having defeated Creekside, Brookstone and Paideia this week.

In Monday’s match-up against Creekside, the War Eagles won by a score of 16-6. Trey Strickland was the winning pitcher coming on in relief of Matt Moody. Brandon Harris, Miles King, Ryan Lloyd, and Nathan Hunter all had two hits each, with the highlight being an inside the park home run by Hunter.

On Tuesday against Brookstone, Landmark, ranked fifth in Class A, sent the 10th ranked Cougars home with a 12-2 loss. The War Eagles scored seven runs in the sixth inning to win by 10 runs once again. Tommy Kinney was the winning pitcher with 10 strikeouts. King had three more hits and Michael Leonard had a 2-for-2 performance. King was voted "Player of the Week” at the school.

Landmark faced Paideia on Thursday and won 8-1.
It was the first time all season that one of the War Eagles games went the full seven innings.

On Wednesday, Sandy Creek (3-1) got four strong innings of pitching from Tyler Betsill but the East Coweta Indians strung together some hits and capitalized on some errors in the fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Patriots got some luck in the sixth and Betsill drove in a run to cut the lead to one but their rally fell short.

Sandy Creek will play at Starr’s Mill at 5:30 p.m. next Wednesday.
Creekside (1-4) picked up their first win on Wednesday as the Seminoles defeated Westlake 12-7. Brandon Crump pitched well for the team as they hit the ball well and did not make too many errors. Unfortunately, they followed the win with a 17-0 loss to Lithia Springs.
The Seminoles will face Banneker at home on Monday at 5:30 p.m. and will play them at their home at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
