Chiefs have big night at the plate, get ready for Fayette County

Wednesday night was a good night for local baseball teams. The McIntosh Chiefs fell behind Lovejoy heading into the bottom half of the first inning and then exploded offensively, winning 17-4. The Chiefs got three home runs and seven RBIs from Drew Fausett and also got a home run from Cameron Wallis.

McIntosh (3-0) will play at Fayette County (2-1) tonight at 7 p.m.

Our Lady of Mercy (2-0) defeated Yeshiva 11-1. Brett Thomas, William Pearl, Jarrod Bocella and Robert Caruso all had RBIs in the first three innings as the Bobcats built a six run lead. Boccella struck out eight in those three innings before being replaced by Caruso.

Our Lady of Mercy will host Athens Christian in a double header tomorrow beginning at noon.
In other games, Starr’s Mill (6-0) stayed perfect by handing the Riverdale Raiders a 16-0 loss. They have outscored their opponents 59-14 this season. East Coweta (5-0) defeated Sandy Creek (3-1), 3-2. The Indians will host

Northgate today at 5:30 p.m. Northagte handed Mundy’s Mill a 10-0 loss. Landmark Christian (6-0) continued their streak of games not lasting the regulation seven innings by beating Brookstone 12-2.
