Samford University debaters Erin Ramsey of Peachtree City, and John Wilkerson of Macon, teamed up to win a University of Florida tournament held Jan. 27-29 in Gainesville, Fla.

Ramsey and Wilkerson defeated Vanderbilt University in the final round to capture the top spot. They had defeated University of Miami in the semi-finals and Florida State University in the quarter-finals.

Ramsey, a freshman political science major, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ramsey.
