Long range plans approved by First Baptist Church of Peachtree City include the construction of a Community Life Center across the street from the church’s current buildings on Willow Bend Rd.

The plan is the result of several years work by church leaders, directed by a congregational decision to increase the church’s contribution to and support to the community while remaining in their current location. The church building committee conferred with city officials to determine needs in the community which could be met by this center.

The proposed two-story building, which could be as large as 27,000 sq. ft., will be designed to accomodate as many of those needs as possible. It is expected to be a facility that could accomodate activities for persons of all ages.

Success of the plan rests on arranging a mutually beneficial land swap between the city and the church. The land swap would provide land that the city is currently seeking and help to develop a “linear park” setting in the center of town. The proposed site for the Community Life Center would be in the area where city tennis courts are now located.
