Stanley and Patricia Perry of Demorest and Ray and Monika Nix of Alto announce the engagement of their daughter, Libby Claire Nix, to Gregory Michael Smith, son of Doyle and Sonia Smith of Peachtree City.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Colston of Demorest and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rayford J. Nix of Baldwin. She is a 1994 graduate of Habersham Central High School and a 1999 graduate of North Georgia College and State University as well as the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and computer science. She is currently employed with MeadWestvaco Packaging Systems in Atlanta.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Pedro Ortiz of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mr. Emory Smith of Tucson, Az., and the late Mrs. Millie Goins. He is a 1992 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of West Georgia where he earned a bachelors degree in political science. He is currently employed with BellSouth Advertising in Duluth.

The wedding will take place Saturday, April 22, at 12:30 p.m. at Flint Hill in Norcross.
