The Villages of East Point has announced plans for a “Passport to Paradise” grand opening celebration with separate events for area Realtors and for the general public. Both events will feature Caribbean-style food from Beverly’s catering, a Village marketplace with real Caribbean street vendors, and live music by the Panorama Street Orchestra. The opening event will be a Realtors Open House from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, during which Realtors can go on escorted golf cart tours. Grand opening giveaways at this event include a drawing for a grand prize, which is a trip for two to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, for this summer’s jazz festival; $500 in American Express gift cards; and prizes shipped in directly from St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands. On all contracts accepted and approved between Saturday, Feb. 18, and midnight, March 19, 2006, the home buyers in The Villages of East Point have the opportunity to win a chance to win a new car. Conveniently located in East Point, the development is in close proximity to Downtown and Midtown Atlanta; the airport; Ft. McPherson; interstate highways and other major thoroughfares; and Turner Field. Developed by EP Land Dev., LLC, The Villages of East Point is currently a 50-acre development along Stanton Road in East Point north of Langford Parkway. If plans go as hoped, the development could ultimately expand to take in an additional 200 acres, extending south of Langford Parkway all the way to Connally Drive. The residential architectural look of The Villages of East Point is Southern Vernacular. The single family residential villages will have homes with front porches and small front yards, promoting more interaction among neighbors, and most of the homes will have back loaded garages. The balance of the original 50-acre development, which is being called a prime example of urban design, will have a 258-unit apartment complex, the Village Highlands Apartments; 125 senior rental apartments; and 7,000 sq. ft. of commercial space along the main street. |
