Over 42 million votes were cast for contestants on "American Idol" this week and Fayetteville's Paris Bennett recieved enough votes to make it to next week.

Bennett sang "Wind Beneath my Wings" this past Tuesday and her spirits must have been soaring as she received the good news from Ryan Seacrest.

New York diva Brenna received the lowest number of votes and sang "Last Dance" as she exited the competition. Heather got the second lowest number and sang "Hero" on her way out.

By next Thursday night, Bennett will know whether or not she has made the final 12, as two more guys and girls will be eliminated from the show.
