The silver is being polished and the yards are being groomed as residents in Senoia get ready for their annual kickoff to spring.

The Senoia Area Historical Society is hosting its annual Progressive Dinner March 17-18. Guests will be served a five-course dinner, with each course served in one of the town’s historic homes.

Historical society public relations spokesperson Rebecca Neil promises this year’s feast will be the best, and encourages everyone to buy their tickets quickly, because the event usually sells out in a hurry.

This year, the appetizers will be served at the Hollberg-Dowdy House on Bridge Street, which has gone under an interior renovation.

The salad course is hosted at the Nolan-Penot home, also on Bridge Street.

Soups are served at the Humphrey House on Baggarly Way. Bruce and Julie have participated in the dinner for years, and guests always enjoy their hospitality.

The entrée and dessert courses are at the Veranda bed and breakfast, where the movie “Angel from Montgomery” was recently filmed. If the weather cooperates, dessert will be served in the recently refurbished barn on the property.

This is the 21st year for the popular event, which gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a great meal and get a glimpse of some of Senoia’s beautiful older homes.

Tickets are $40 each, and seating is limited. For reservations, 678-263-2110.
