PTC Kiwanis and Special Olympics
The Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City recently donated $500 in support of the Fayette County Special Olympics. Special Olympics provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

The motto of Special Olympians is "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt". Over 23,000 individuals in Georgia participate in these events annually. Participants in Fayette County will compete in Track and Field events on Friday, March 17 at Whitewater High School. Swimming competition takes place at the Kedron Pool in Peachtree City on Friday, March 24. Should you wish to assist with the events or make a donation, please contact Debbie Parrish at 770-716-4320 or email her at dparrish@fayettecountyga.gov.
