Draft Todd for school board; time to change

Recently I have read several letters and many, many blogs about the current school board. They fail to address to the enormous problem of out-of-county students, trailers at some schools while other schools have numbers of empty classrooms, no backbone, and on and on. By the way, those trailers are rented.

Lack of leadership is what it is called. They are worried about bad press and rightfully so. The press and public are watching their bad performance. We are on the very edge of losing a great school system.

In one letter this week a writer asked Dr. Bob Todd if he would serve again. What a great idea: A retired career educator with a Ph.D. in education administration. I agree that this would be a good choice.

We certainly need a change on this board. Let’s elect a really qualified person who knows the system and has the background needed for school board. After all, the school board spends about 80 percent of our tax dollars. Don’t we want board members that are educated and have administrative skills?

Dr. Todd would not be there because he wants to advance his own children in some way. His children are grown. He would be there to advance all the children in the entire system.
