By: Michael Boylan
For those who dread yard work or for the serious garden enthusiast make sure to attend the new Spring Yard and Garden Show on Saturday, Apr. 15 from 10 am to 6 pm at Shakerag Knoll on McIntosh Trail. Admission is free. “There will be a variety of services for those who would like to hire someone to do the work and there will be products for those who want to get dirty themselves,” says Makeda Johnson, show coordinator. Peachtree City Parks and Recreation is sponsoring the new event and look forward to making this an annual event because of the response we have already had from local businesses. Vendors will be showcasing ideas for yard design, offering plants to revive your landscapes and wares to make outdoor living colorful and comfortable. Some of the businesses already in the show include, Metal Yard Art by Carl Hudson, Cony Mason, featuring Native Azaleas, Wild Birds Unlimited, featuring bird feeders, birdhouses, wind chimes, and related items, and Selective Designs Landscaping that will feature unique outdoor kitchens and commercial and residential landscaping. Registration for vendors is still open. Vendor application, waiver, and the rules and regulations for this event are available online at www.peachtree-city.org/recreation under Spring Yard and Garden Show forms or you may visit the Recreation Administration Office at 191 McIntosh Trail. Food will be available so plan to stay for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Whatever the weather, don’t miss the first ever Spring Yard and Garden Show. There’s plenty of free parking. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Makeda Johnson at 770-631-2542 or mjohnson@peachtree-city.org. login to post comments |
