I would like to thank The Citizen for the opportunity to address the good folks of Senoia.

For the last two years I have served all of the citizens of our city. I will remain a servant of all citizens.

One priority is our preservation of Greenspace and our Historic District. I feel very strongly that we should appoint and strongly support a Historic Preservation Committee. The committee is vital to the success of our Historic Preservation. The recent acquisition of a substantial parcel of property to be forever enjoyed by our community as a passive - Greenspace park is a huge investment in our future. As we continue to grow, we need to pay close attention to our greenspace - when it's gone we can't get it back.

As we look to the future economic development in the downtown area, as well as, the commercial corridors - Hwy. 85 & 16 and Hwy 16E has to be considered another priority. Controlled quality growth is within our grasp. Working with the Downtown Development Authority, there are exciting opportunities.

I think the proposed Quality Growth Corridor ordinance is an excellent idea. (Thanks to Mr. Ferry & Mr. Johnston). This ordinance will strengthen existing guidelines and look to the future to continue to provide the quality and character that is so important to all of us.

I think it's time we do something for our seniors. We need to work with the county and open the Senior Center on a regular basis to provide activities & opportunities for our seniors.

We should continue to support our Little League. As we grow, we must provide programs for our youth. We have an excellent facility. Let's continue to support it and let it grow along with us.

Our City Park needs attention. We should continue to support the effort and work that has already been done. For those who have not seen the preliminary drawing, I encourage you to do so at City Hall. There's been a lot of work put in to this. Let's continue to support it.

I would like to acknowledge all of our department heads in town. I fully support each one of you and look forward to working with you in the future. We're fortunate to have such a dedicated group of city employees.

Finally, I'd like to say that we all share the same concerns about our town. Downtown revitalization, code enforcement, traffic, etc. We are all experiencing "growing pains" and sometimes...most times, that's unpleasant. We can work together to accomplish our goals.

Thank all of ya'll for your support.
