Edward Jones aids relief effort

The five Fayette County investment representatives for the St. louis based financial services firm Edward Jones recently announced that their firm has donated $250,000 to the American red Cross to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina that devastated the Gulf Coast.

In addition, Edward Jones will match its associates donations to the American Red Cross. The firm also intends to collect client donations toward the relief effort.

This is a tragedy that hits close to home for all of us, investment representative Michele Hall said. We have branch offices located in the Gulf Coast and our investment representatives and their staffs work and live in the area. We hope this donation can help ease the suffering of our friends, neighbors, colleagues and clients.

Edward Jones has a tradition of helping those recovering from disasters. the firm contributed to relief efforts for survivors of the Sept. 11 attacks the hurricanes that struck Florida last year and the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.

The Fayette County investment representatives include Hall, Elizabeth Whitlock and Mindy Whitlock of Fayetteville, along with Chris Allessio and Barry Ellis of Peachtree City.
