Baptisms at Christ the King

Two children received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism recently at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. On Jan. 10, the first Sunday after the Epiphany, also known at “The Baptism of Our Lord,” Lila Grace McGee (left photo), daughter of Seth and Joy Barnes McGee of Peachtree City, received Holy Baptism. The following Sunday, on the Feast Day of Our Lord the Giver of Life, Maddox Andrew Gardner (right photo), son of Andrew and Jennifer Huggins Gardner of Tyrone, was baptized. Both families had numerous family members and friends in attendance.

The children were baptized by Bishop David Epps with several members of the cathedral clergy assisting. Both fathers also participated in the baptism of their children. In addition, Deacon James Anthony McGee of Newnan assisted in the baptism of his granddaughter Lila Grace, and Deacon James Gardner of Tyrone and Ronnie Huggins of Hampton assisted in the baptism of their grandson Maddox.
