John Veazey Wynne Jr., 92, Crawfordville, died Jan. 4. 2010. He was born Nov. 20, 1917, and was a lifelong resident of Taliaferro County and a 1935 graduate of Alexander Stephens Institute. He was a 1940 graduate of the University of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Allyene Long Wynne, and his parents, John Veazey and Mary Lizzie Sturdivant Wynne. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture.

Services were at the Powelton Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Bishop and the Rev. James Dotson officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Judith W. and Ray Pearson, Macon, and Lucile W. and Randy Hough, Peachtree City; a sister, Dorothy Wynne Gibbs, Social Circle; four grandsons; one great-grandson; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Powelton Cemetery Fund, in care of Mrs. Jackie Butts, 4316 Sparta Rd., Crawfordville, GA 30631. Lowe Funeral Home, Crawfordville, was in charge.
