An unnamed 15-year-old Marietta male has been charged with aggravated child molestation in an incident in which he is alleged to have made an 8-year-old Fayetteville girl perform oral sex.

The Marietta juvenile, who was 14 at the time of the alleged incident, was arrested by Fayetteville Police Dec. 23 after turning himself in at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, according to Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw.

Crawshaw said that at the time of the incident approximately one year ago, the then-14-year-old male and his father were living with the girl and her mother in Fayetteville.

Though many of the specifics were not made public, Crawshaw said the girl told investigators that the boy began rubbing against her and told her to stay under the covers, and subsequently made her perform oral sex.

Crawshaw said Fayetteville Police were notified of the situation in October by Georgia Dept. of Family and Children’s Services (DFACS) after the agency was alerted by a therapist.

Crawshaw said the determination to file charges came at the conclusion of the investigation and a forensic interview with the girl. DFACS staff and the therapist contributed to the investigation, he said.

The boy and his father moved to Cobb County approximately nine months before the incident came to the attention of law enforcement, Crawshaw said.
