Peachtree City police are searching for a man who held up the Line Creek Chevron at gunpoint Saturday morning. There were no injuries in the armed robbery.

Police said the man entered the convenience store Saturday morning, brandished what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun and robbed the clerk, according to reports.

The offender was described as a black male and appeared to be 18-25 years of age, about 6 feet in height and very thin, according to a weekend press release. The subject also has a very Southern accent, police said.

The robber was wearing black tennis type shoes, blue jeans, a black shirt and an oversized black jacket with fur around the hood area, according to police. The man also had a stocking hat on under the hood covering his head, the report said.

Capt. Mike Claman on Tuesday said the clerk was not injured in the incident. Claman added that police are unsure at this time if the man fled on foot or in a vehicle.

Anyone with any information regarding this crime should call 770-487-8866. If after hours, call Fayette County E911 at 770-461-4357.
