Merchants at the Fayetteville Pavilion got some help from the Fayetteville City Council last week when the board agreed to the installation of 11 additional monument signs along Pavilion Parkway.

The Nov. 16 request for additional signage came from property owner/manager DDRC, citing the need for customers to be able to more easily identify the 75 retailers in 44 unique buildings.

The effect of the recession on business sales makes the need to identify a particular business even more significant, said DDRC property manager Don Jurenek, adding that some stores reported customers having difficulty locating their business inside the expansive shopping area.

Per agreement at the Dec. 17 meeting, the new monument signs will be installed by June 30 and will conform to those already existing along the parkway.
