The American Red Cross will play host to a blood drive in Atlanta Motor Speedway’s Tara Ballroom on Monday, Dec. 21.

The American Red Cross blood drive will take place from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Tara Ballroom, located between the Speedway’s Petty Grandstand and corporate office building near the main entrance.

Each donor will receive a complimentary American Red Cross stainless steel water bottle and can pre-register for an appointment time by visiting www.givelife.org and using sponsor code, “atlantaspeedway”. In addition to the water bottle, each donor will have a chance to win a pair of roundtrip tickets from Delta Air Lines or a Rookie Experience from the Richard Petty Driving Experience, which puts you in the driver’s seat for eight laps around Atlanta Motor Speedway’s high banks.

NASCAR fans can also register at www.redcrossracing.com to receive 50 points for donating blood. Points can be redeemed for Red Cross Racing gear, including t-shirts, hats and diecast cars.

For more information on the upcoming American Red Cross blood drive in the Tara Ballroom, contact Terrill Cooper at cooperta@usa.redcross.org.

The American Red Cross Blood Services Southern Region, which supplies blood to approximately 130 hospitals in Georgia, must receive 1,200 blood donations each day to meet the needs of patients in the region. Blood donors must be 17 years of age or older and weigh at least 110 pounds.

The American Red Cross blood drive in the Tara Ballroom is run independently of Atlanta Motor Speedway.
