Crosses of Military Service and National Defense Medals were presented at a Veteran’s Day Service sponsored by the Frankie Lyle Chapter No.2074, United Daughters of the Confederacy. The ceremony was held at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church in appreciation for their service to our country. In the first row are Calvin Graves, U. S. Navy, who received the World War II Cross; Charles Traywick, U. S. Army, received the World War II Cross; Broughton Mullins, Jr., U. S. Navy received the Vietnam Cross; Thomas Huckaby, U. S. Army, received the Korean War National Defense Medal; Larry Newsome, U. S. Air Force, received the Vietnam National Defense Medal; Jonathan Till, U. S. Air Force, received the Meritorious Service Certificate of Recognition; and Daniel Frazier, U. S. Army, received the Vietnam Cross. All recipients are Fayetteville residents with the exception of Jonathan Till who resides in Douglasville. In the second row are Guest Speaker, Harry R. Kerr, a Pearl Harbor survivor, Frankie Lyle President, Linda Ramey, Mrs. Iris Lee Jordan a “Real Daughter” of a Confederate Soldier and member of the Atlanta #18 Chapter, and Linda Robinson, Chapter Recorder of Military Service Awards. login to post comments |
