Martha Jean Durrah, formerly of Newnan, died Nov. 9, 2009. She was born Dec. 24, 1931and was the fifth of nine children. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lillie B. Hill, brothers, J. W., James, Milton, Roosevelt, and Edward, a son-in-law, Jessie Williams, her husband, Clifford Durrah Sr., and a daughter, Shelia. She was an active member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.

Services were at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Stafford Dudley officiating. Interment was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include a son, Clifford and Hazel Durrah; a brother, Lewis Hill; sisters, Elvenia Arnold, and Daisy Smith, grandchildren, Tajuana Tillman, Judy and Tim Gamble, Jameson and Jackie Durrah, Temelia and Tony Portress, and Jessica Williams.; and eight great-grandchildren. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral home, Newnan, was in charge.
