Joseph Edward Richard

Joseph Edward Richard, 76, Senoia, died Nov. 10, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Edward and Beatrice Sullivan Richard Sr., and a sister, Patricia Braganca, Pawtucket, R. I. In 1953 he went to the Airborne Training at Fort Benning, and was then stationed at Fort Bragg, N. C. with the 82nd Airborne. His service to the Panther of the 3/505 Parachute Infantry Regiment and the 3rd Brigade earned him a place as a member of the "All American Chapter" of the retired 82nd Airborne Paratroopers. He worked for 22 years as an HVAC serviceman and after completing his college degree in 1976, began work in Facilities Management, first in the hospital field and the last 12 years of his career at Bryant University in Rhode Island.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a 3rd degree Knight with Council 8081. He coached youth baseball and was an active volunteer with the Boys and Girls Clubs of American. Services were at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with interment at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Patricia Richard; children, Julieanne and Larry Spoor, Denton, Texas, Jeff Richard, Madison, Conn., Sharon McAllister, Bethel, Maine, and Erin Peisel, Senoia; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jeanne Harnois, Blackstone, Mass. Memorial donations may be given to the J. Edward Richard Scholarship Fund, Holy Trinity Knights of Columbus, Council 8081, P. O Box 2222, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Trinity Parish, 101 Walt Banks Rd., Peachtree City, GA 30269. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
