Big games over the weekend for some teams

Several teams have been active over the week-long break.

Northgate’s boys (0-2) after a 2-1 loss to Alexander and a 6-0 loss to Newnan, took on Chapel Hill yesterday after the paper went to press. The Lady Vikings (1-1) after a 3-0 win over Carrollton and a 3-0 loss to Newnan, were also active on Thursday with a game at Central, Carrollton.

East Coweta’s boys and girls have games against Spalding today at 6 and 8 p.m. The Lady Indians are 4-0 after 15-0 wins over Cross Keys and Mundy’s Mill, a 9-0 win over Tucker and a 7-0 win over Fayette County. The boys are 2-1 after defeating Carrollton 4-3 and Mundy’s Mill 3-0 but losing to Druid Hills 3-2.

Sandy Creek’s boys (1-2) picked up their first win of the season recently when they handed Winder Barrow a 5-3 loss on Tuesday. They will take on Carrollton today at 7:30 p.m.

McIntosh’s boys and girls have been off for most of the week but faced Brookwood yesterday evening and will take on Duluth tomorrow. Both games are part of the Brookwood tournament. Tomorrow’s games are at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Starr’s Mill’s boys and girls will also play in the tournament with games against Brookwood on Saturday at 3 and 5 p.m.

Whitewater’s boys and girls are off until next Tuesday and Fayette County is off until next Wednesday.
