NCR today hosted the grand opening of its Services Center of Excellence in Peachtree City, which is adding 900 jobs to the local economy.

The expansion also will bring another 125 visitors each week to Peachtree City. The visitors will be NCR employees enrolled at the NCR University training program.

The company has a host of business solutions for a variety of sectors including retail, hospitality, healthcare, financial, travel, gaming and entertainment solutions. The company also maintains and services other branded hardware in those fields as well.

NCR's self-serve kiosks are deployed by large companies including Delta Air Lines.

The 360,000-square-foot Center of Excellence in Peachtree City was remodeled to create a world-class service support environment and training facility. The customer service engineers located there assist NCR customers worldwide.

The expansion and remodeling of the NCR campus in Peachtree City is valued at $15 million. But local and state officials place a higher value on the jobs created by the expansion, particularly in light of a difficult economy.

Fayette County Commission Chairman Jack Smith joined Gov. Sonny Perdue and U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson in thanking NCR for choosing Peachtree City and Fayette County for the project.

NCR Services Senior Vice President Christine Wallace said the facility represents an investment in NCR's most critical component: its people. She also thanked the state of Georgia's QuickStart program, which helped provide rapid training for employees to help get operations underway quickly.

The training center also will be showcased to prospective NCR customers to show them how prepared the company is to meet all their service needs.

NCR executive Vice President John Bruno said the company's investment is not only for the present but for the future.

The Peachtree City facility handles 20,000 service incidents a day. The campus also includes the company's global service parts headquarters.
