16 million jobs, several million more foreclosures..of homes, tens of thousands more empty retail foreclosures, 2-300 more banks to close or sell, numerous developers and builders to start fixing roofs and bathroom floors, and more taxes to pay to solve all this. If someone said, "I'll pay for the current 16 million jobless salaries providing someone or the government will find them a productive job to perform," I can't envision just how that could be done - even in 4-5 years! It is going to be a big enough job to install a new health system in the country - and I doubt they will hire many of the 16 million jobless in that profession! That wouldn't count anyway due to most of them being paid by tax money. Same if the government hired them. However, if each of the 50 states and Puerto Rico and some Islands we own, were assigned maybe 5000 more cops and 5000 more firefighters for each state wouldn't that be about 5-600,000 places for jobs? No, wait a minute--all of those would have to be paid the next year with taxes from home values---that won't work will it? Darned if I have the answer. Never seen such a mess!
