Chiefettes Win State for Fourth Consecutive YearThu, 02/23/2006 - 1:46pm

For the fourth consecutive year, the McIntosh High School Varsity Chiefettes walked away from the Universal Dance Association’s (UDA) Georgia Championship as state champs in the high kick category. Making the day even more impressive, the team also won first place in the pom category. Two Chiefettes competed in the solo category with Senior Laurel Edge placing fourth and Junior Meghan Takacs receiving sixth place.
The state championship was the culmination of a highly-successful competition season that saw the Chiefettes winning a total of eight first place awards in kick and pom. The team also has been honored with awards for Best Precision and Best Costume. Team members include Captain Laurel Edge, Co-Captain Kaitlyn Stubbs, Lieutenant Hannah Thompson, and team members Anna Brooks, Hannah Calamoneri, Brittni Collins, Jessica Davis, Natalie Davis, Jennifer Drucker, Lauryn Dugas, Lauren Espinosa, Christie Ethridge, Brogan Fleming, Emily Franz, Caitlin Galvin, Kate Lewkowicz, Whitney Plummer, Courtney Simmonds, Meghan Takacs, and Lauren White.
