Honoring our veterans is an ongoing patriotic project of the Frankie Lyle Chapter of the UDC. Last year’s Veterans Christmas Tree project was very successful as many veterans were honored by loved ones who purchased an ornament in their name. For $10.00 per ornament, your veteran’s name and branch of service will be hand written on an ornament and each veteran will be prayed for as his or her name is written.

Last year many ornaments were purchased for several members of the same family. Lynda Lambeth of Fayetteville bought two ornaments honoring her father, Army Master Sgt. Charles Lambeth who served in WWII and her nephew, Jason Preston, Sgt. U.S. Air Force Reserves deployed to Iraq . The chapter was touched by the request from her nephew asking that his ornament be placed alongside his grandfather’s on the tree.

The tree donated by the Fayette County Civitan Club will be decorated with red, white and blue ornaments and will sit in front of the American Legion Post No. 105 Log Cabin. Frankie Lyle Chapter members greatly appreciate the support of these two organizations.

Please take time to honor a veteran this Christmas with the purchase of an ornament. All proceeds go toward the chapter’s patriotic activities.

To order your ornament send this information (Veterans Name/ Rank, Branch of Service, War/Conflict / or Date Served) with your check for $10 per ornament made payable to Frankie Lyle No.2074 and mail to: Linda Robinson, 250 Newhaven Drive, Fayetteville, GA 30215-8608.
