• Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday is pleased to announce that Robert Cannon of Peachtree City recorded a hole-in-one during a Feb. 14, 2006, visit to the Grand Strand. Cannon used a 6 Iron at the 151-yard, par 3, hole number 17 at Litchfield Country Club. The hole-in-one was witnessed by Robert Cannon. “We would like to congratulate Robert Cannon on this achievement,” said Bill Golden, vice president and director of marketing for Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday. “A hole-in-one is a once in a lifetime experience and we are pleased that feat was accomplished at one of our great golf courses in Myrtle Beach.” • McIntosh graduate Sally Maple had four goals and one assist for the Presbyterian College women’s lacrosse team in their 10-9 loss to St. Andrews Presbyterian. • Cameron Willis from East Coweta High School and Scooter Houston from Starr’s Mill High School have been named to the 2006 Pro-Day Baseball Honorable Mention team. These players were selected from their performance in one of PRO-DAY's State, Regional or National Showcases. Players were evaluated in all areas of hitting, fielding, throwing, running and pitching by the PRO-DAY Staff, who has over 150 years of experience in professional baseball either as a scout, coach or player. PRO-DAY Baseball travels over 30,000 miles per year conducting showcases at professional baseball stadiums, college parks or high school fields showcasing high school players in grades 9-12 in front of collegiate coaches and professional scouts. "Our goal here is to help players advance to the next level," said Gross. "PRO-DAY limits the players to 100 per showcase, so they will get plenty of exposure. login to post comments |
