Miquela Rivers won high awards at the November7, 2009 Region 5AAAA One Act Play Competition .  Ten schools participated in the competition.  Out of the ten schools that competed, Fayette County High School (FCHS) received 2nd Place (runner up) for their performance of A Woman Called Truth .  Furthermore, out of all the performances, Miquela Rivers received the Best Actress Award for her role as Sojourner Truth in A Woman Called Truth!

In addition to these honors, Miquela was voted Most Talented by the 2010 FCHS Graduating Class.  She was also a state finalist for the 2009 Governor's Honors Program in Theatre. Miquela is a member of Select Chorus and Women's Trio.  She is also the President of the International Thespian Society, a member of student government and an honor roll student.  Miquela plans to attend Brenau University next year where she is receiving academic and talent scholarships.
