Coweta County Road Department has closed two roads due to the heavy rains and subsequent potential flooding.

Hood Road in the northern portion of the county has water crossing the road around 422 Hood Road.

Hoot Owl Hollow, which is off Handy Road, has been closed as a precautionary measure due to rising waters on either side of the road between 1233 and 1320 Hoot Owl Hollow.

Barricades have been placed on both roads and they will be monitored all day today so they can be removed when the water recedes to a safe level.
