This year, one closet in Fayette County has been filled up before the holiday season even starts. Thanks to the recent clothing drive organized by the Young Professionals of Fayette County (YP Fayette), Fayette Youth Protection Home’s free clothing store, called Gracie’s Closet, has been stocked up with new and gently used clothing items for them to distribute free of cost to foster children in Fayette County and surrounding areas. Beginning back in August as one of YP Fayette’s ongoing charitable projects, their members have collected over 2,500 clothing items to give back to the community through Gracie’s Closet.

“With the winter season approaching quickly, our members felt it was important to organize a clothing drive to supply the much-needed items for the children and teens that depend on them,” commented Kristen Rosati, President of YP Fayette. “We chose to contribute to Gracie’s Closet in hopes that by donating items to stock up their store, we can help make the children’s transition into foster homes a bit easier.”

YP Fayette plans to continue the clothing drive through the holidays and is asking the community to help support their cause by making tax-deductible donations of new or gently used children and teen clothing, baby supplies, children’s books and gift cards to Gracie’s Closet. Some of the items on the organization’s wish list include: new or gently used infant, child, and teen clothing, new socks and underwear, children’s shoes, baby supplies, jackets, and suitcases. Items can be dropped off at the Fayette Youth Protection Homes Executive Office at 101 Devant St, Suite 502, Fayetteville, Ga.
