Michael McElhaney, Newnan, died Oct. 25, 2009. He was born April 20, 1955 in Muscogee County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie M. Watson, and oldest sister, Carolyn. He was an avid bid watcher, who enjoyed taking pictures of everything. He thoroughly enjoyed toffee and his bubble gum. His hobbies included flying kites with his children. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church where he attended Bible Study and taking part in discussions.

Services were at the St. John Baptist Church in Shenandoah with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Joyce A. McElhaney, Newnan; sons, Terrance McElhaney, Columbus, and Brandon McElhaney, Atlanta; daughters, Yatashia N. Dubose, and Ashley D. McElhaney, both of Newnan; four grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge.
