Melvin Maurice Yokeley, 75, Hampton, died Oct. 27, 2009. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Patricia Yokeley. He was a veteran of the Korean War era and served in the United States Army Airborne. He loved the Lord and served as a deacon at Lovejoy First Baptist Church. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with Pastor Tyson Roache officiating. Interment was at Sherwood Memorial Park, Jonesboro.

Survivors include sons, Joey Maurice Yokeley, Hampton, and David Melvin and Sabrina Yokeley, Williamson; daughters, Kathy Jo Yokeley, Hampton, Patsy Faye Harper, California, and Bridgett Dawn and Chris Chitwood, Fayetteville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Yokeley, Terry Yokeley, and Larry Yokeley. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
