“GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays,” a free, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death, will be offered by two Fayette County churches this month.

Heritage Christian will offer the seminar this Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the church, 2130 Redwine Rd., Fayetteville. Child care will be provided through fifth grade (must RSVP). A light breakfast will be served.

Fayetteville First Baptist will offer the seminar Tuesday, Nov. 17, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church, 205 Stonewall Ave., Fayetteville. Childcare will be provided.

Both seminars feature practical suggestions and reassurance through video interviews with counselors, grief experts and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death. Topics to be discussed include “Why the Holidays Are Tough,” “What to Expect,” “How to Prepare,” “How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.” Those who attend will receive a free book with over 30 daily readings providing additional insights and ideas on holiday survival.
