Peachtree City police are seeking information regarding an attempted theft of copper from the roof of the Peachtree Crossings shopping center. In the early morning hours of Monday, October 26th, 2009 two men were seen attempting to steal large amounts of copper from the rooftop area over a vacant business (formerly Kroger). One male was seen on the roof, and was described as a light-skinned black male or an Hispanic male, police said. The other male subject was described as a white male leaving in a white pickup truck with ladders on top. There was a business sign observed on the side of the pickup truck possibly displaying the business name of “A-1 Roofing,” or another similar business name, police said. The perpetrators caused extensive damage to the rooftop area by the perpetrators in their attempt to remove copper piping, police said. Anyone with information that would assist police in these or other incidents, is asked to contact the Peachtree City Criminal Investigations Division at 770-631-2510 or the Crime and Narcotics Information Hotline at (770) 487-6010.
