The 2009 property tax bills for City of Newnan residents are due today and the city would like to remind citizens that anyone owning property in the City of Newnan should have received two separate tax bills, one from the City of Newnan and one from Coweta County, each payable to the appropriate party.

Tax bills, per state law, were mailed to the owner on record as of January 1, 2009.  If you do not receive a tax bill for any property you own in the City of Newnan, please call the Finance Department at (770) 254-2351. Failure to pay by the due date of October 30 will result in a 1 percent per month penalty being added. There are no exceptions.

There were 13,916 tax bills mailed this year. Citizens can pay taxes online, in person at City Hall or by mail to P.O. Box 1193, Newnan, GA, 30264. Go to www.newnantaxes.com to pay online.
