Fayetteville candidates’ disclosures

The campaigns for three Fayetteville City Council posts are winding down. Here is a look at what each of the six candidates has raised and where it came from.

Post 3 incumbent Walt White on Oct. 25 reported a total of $8,800.37 in campaign contributions to date and $4,518.59 in expenditures.

A total of $4,400 in contributions ranged from $200 to $1,000 from 12 private individuals with the $4,400 remainder coming in the form of contributions of less than $101. White also carried over $195 from his 2005 campaign.

Those contributing $200 to $1,000 included Eric Maxwell, E.M. Dodson, Tim Scarff, Gregg Woodward, Ed Wyatt, Sandra and Ralph Balchin, Mike Wheat, Eddie Robins, Earl Hanners, Thomas Chandler, James Macke and Fred Mortensen.

The $3,821.69 in expenditures went for various types of campaign ads, signs and phone messages.

Post 3 challenger Patty Hawkins, in her latest filing on Sept. 30 reported using $1,695.01 of her own money to pay for signs, cards, and other campaign expenses. Hawkins has until the end of this week to submit the Oct. 25 filing.

In the Post 4 race, incumbent Larry Dell in his Oct. 25 report showed a total to date of $7,085 in contributions. Dell reported $2,779.67 in campaign expenses.

Dell reported $4,785 in contributions of less than $101, loans to himself for $1,600 and a total of $1,300 from Lindsey Howard, Mike Wheat, Eric Maxwell, Nick Garcia and Cathryn Stephens. Dell carried over $800 from his 2005 campaign.

Post 4 challenger Mickey Edwards on Oct. 25 reported a total of $9,213.08 in contributions and the same amount in expenditures. A total of $4,023.31 in contributions was received during the current reporting period while $5,189.77 was carried over from the previous period. Edwards did not list any sources of contributions or expenditures in his submissions.

In Post 5, incumbent Paul Oddo on Sept. 30 reported a total of $2,539.20 in contributions to date and $683.20 in expenditures. Oddo has until the end of the week to file the Oct. 25 documents.

Of the $2,539.20, a total of $1,489.20 took the form of loans to himself, $1,000 was from William Redwine II and $50 came from contributions of less than $101. The $875 in contributions from the previous reporting period was carried over from his first election campaign in 2005.

Post 5 challenger Bill Dick on Oct. 25 reported $978.38 in total contributions. A total of $200 came from contributions of less than $101, with Dick supplying the remainder. Dick spent $738.38 on campaign-related items.
