Doctor failed to address these problem areas

Dr. Potts in his letter (The Citizen, Oct. 21, 2009) narrowly focused on two aspects of the healthcare problem: The need for prospective patients to save more money to pay their healthcare bills, and tort reform to bring down the cost to physicians.

Dr. Potts did not address the following problems: the tremendous annual increase of hospital care, Medicare, and Medicaid, and the waste in all those areas. The obvious need for additional wellness treatment of the American public. The unconscionable negative affect of the political contributions of the insurance and drug companies.

Unless we address all these areas, we are spinning our wheels.
