Ben Goss and WHS lacrosseTue, 10/27/2009 - 2:33pm
By: The Citizen
On Sunday October 11th, Ben Hester, Brandon Lee and Blake Jaurigue, members of the Whitewater H.S. varsity lacrosse team and the Georgia Copperheads club team visited with Ben Goss at the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta. Ben Goss was a passenger in a car in Massachusetts that was involved in a wreck, three other passengers walked away with minor injuries, unfortunately for Ben he took the brunt of the accident with a C-7 spinal cord injury. These players collected a bag of items from their lacrosse that included a hoodie, sweat pants, t-shirts, equipment bag and other items as Ben was made an honorary member of the Whitewater lacrosse team. The players all agreed that this humbling experience makes wins and losses in a different perspective. The amazing support from the lacrosse community is playing a vital role in Ben's recovery! LAX players and parents have continued to "pop in" and visit which is so important and helps break up the day and give Ben some time with kids and his parents some adult time! For more information on how you can help Ben and his family, contact Mary Jo Corsetti at ayllax@charter.net. Please make time to visit Ben or send a card to: |
