‘Footsteps for the Orphans’ 5K run set for Nov. 7Tue, 10/27/2009 - 12:57pm

HeartCry, a ministry of New Hope Baptist Church, will present its 9th annual ”2009 Harvest Classic Footsteps for The Orphan 5K Race, Walk, and Kids Fun Run” Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 a.m., at New Hope Baptist Church, 551 New Hope Rd., Fayetteville. The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and begins at 8 a.m. The Kids Fun Run begins at 8:10 a.m. Registration for adults is $20 and children are $15, prior to Oct. 31. Registration increases to $25 for adults after that date. Family discount rates are available with early registration. A Pasta Dinner and Silent Auction will be held the evening before, Friday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m., same location, lower level, in the Rainbow Room. HeartCry heeds the call for orphan care, foster care and adoptions, worldwide, with emphasis on Thailand, Haiti and most recently Liberia. This year, some of the proceeds will target the housing needs of 110 orphaned children in Carrefour, Haiti. login to post comments |
