The Many Faces of Breast CancerSun, 10/25/2009 - 9:31pm
By: ManyFacesofBC
11/14/2009 - 9:30am The first Many Faces of Breast Cancer event in Atlanta, a national program educating and celebrating breast cancer survivors, will be hosted by AstraZeneca in partnership with Sisters by Choice and Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta. WHAT: With national focus on early detection and supporting women through diagnosis, there has been little support for the nearly 2.5 million women in the U.S. who today call themselves breast cancer survivors. The battle against breast cancer is rife with obstacles, and the fight doesn’t end after initial treatment. Breast cancer survivors are at the greatest risk of their cancer returning, called a recurrence, within the first five years after completing treatment. The Many Faces of Breast Cancer seeks to educate women about their risks and provide information and support to the growing community of breast cancer survivors. An engaging panel of leading medical experts will address a range of survivorship issues including psychosocial needs, nutrition and diet, recurrence and the latest treatment research. Medical experts scheduled to speak at the event include: • Bonnie M. Dixon, R.D., L.D., Clinical Lead Nutritionist, Georgia Cancer Specialists WHEN: Saturday, November 14, 2009 Admission, refreshments and parking are free. Parking available in the Technology Square parking deck, attached to the Center. WHERE: Georgia Tech Global Learning Center RSVP: To register, call 1.800.977.4089 or email ManyFacesAtlanta@zenogroupevents.com Georgia Tech Global Learning Center 1.800.977.4089 |
