Christ Our Shepherd conducting ‘service weekend’ for community A service weekend offered by Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church has several events today for the public to take part in. The church will host a “give and take” yard sale in which all items are free. It will take place at the church campus on Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. Members of the community are invited to leave items if they wish and take what they would like; any leftover items will be donated to a charitable organization. The church is also hosting a bake sale with proceeds going to the Department of Family and Children Services Summer Lunch program and the Fayette Senior Services Meals on Wheels program. The yard sale will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Braelinn Kroger grocery store. The church is also hosting a free document shredding service Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. on the church grounds. These are just the large-scale projects, but teams of volunteers will be also tackling a number of smaller projects throughout as they dedicate their entire weekend to serving the community through volunteerism. The weekend culminates with just one worship service Sunday at 3 p.m. that will be hosted at The Bridge Community Center, which is operated by Peachtree City First Baptist Church. login to post comments |
