Toyota of Newnan and Turner Network Sales (TNS) are partnering again this year to present truTV’s highly-regarded “Digital Fingerprinting for Kids” event, a service designed to help prevent crimes against children by offering parents and guardians practical tools that include digital fingerprints and safety tips. The Newnan event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Toyota of Newnan, 2 Herring Road.

“We are excited to be hosting this event again this year. We had a large turn out last year and hope to have more participate this year. You never know what could happen, which is why we feel it is important to hold an event like this to prepare our community for any situation,” said Toyota of Newnan owner Walt Gutierrez.

truTV has fingerprinted thousands of children since the program’s initiation in 2002.  Each child receives an 8 x 10 printout with photo, fingerprints, and personal information such as height, weight, and hair color. Information and fingerprints are strictly for the privacy of the families, and no information is kept on file. In addition, the first 300 kids attending each event will receive a free DNA kit, safety whistle and magnet.

“We are pleased to partner with Toyota of Newnan again this year with this important promotion developed to help parents of Coweta County protect their children,” said TNS Vice President Gary Brockman.
