De Leo, Liptak receive theology degrees
Two local students were graduated from St. Michael’s Seminary recently in the Charismatic Episcopal Church’s Diocese of the Mid-South. Jereme De Leo of Newnan received a licentiate of theology and Joseph Liptak of Fayetteville received the master of ministry degree. The ceremony was held on Saturday evening, Oct. 10. at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg.

Edgefield celebrates 139-plus years
Edgefield Baptist church will continue its celebration of 139-plus years Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Downing, and will end festivities Sunday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Simmons. Edgefield Baptist Church is at 140 Church St. in Fayetteville. Senior pastor is Eddie Thomas. Flat Creek plans barbecue Oct. 24
The men’s ministry at Flat Creek Baptist Church will have a fund-raising barbecue Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11:30 a.m. until the supply is exhausted. Everything will be in “to go” containers so that it may be taken home. Barbecue will be prepared by church member Richard Perry, known near and far for his barbecue. Flat Creek is on Flat Creek Trail between Ga.Highway 54 and Tyrone Road.

‘Authority in Prayer’ workshop planned
A one-day workshop on “Authority in Prayer” will be taught by Dr. Judy Massey Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Cathedral of Christ the King in Sharpsburg. The workshop is sponsored by the Mid-South Diocese of the Charismatic Episcopal Church and is open to the community. The $15 registration fee includes materials and lunch. PCF will have yard sale Oct. 24
Peachtree Christian Fellowship on Ebenezer Church Road will have a “huge” yard sale Saturday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Residents may purchase a space for $25 and sell their yard sale items also. PCF also is accepting donated items and needs volunteers to help. Tax deductible forms will be available. Proceeds will go toward updating the church nursery. John Waller featured in concert
First Presbyterian Church, Peachtree City, will present John Waller, singer, songwriter, and worship leader, in concert Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 or $8 with student ID. Childcare will be provided for children ages 4 and younger. The church is at 206 Willowbend Rd., Peachtree City.

Gracepointe hosts Big Sunday Celebration
Gracepointe Church will host a Big Sunday Celebration on Sunday, Oct. 25, with worship at 10:30 a.m. followed by a church picnic, famous chili cook-off, and fun celebration for guests, friends, and the whole church family. Gracepointe is at 665 Ga. Hwy. 74 South in Peachtree City.

Murray Tilles to speak at Sandy Creek
Murray Tilles, executive director of Light of Messiah Ministries in Atlanta, will explain the history of the conflict in the Middle East and how it ties into Biblical prophecy when he speaks at Sandy Creek Baptist Church Sunday, Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. Sandy Creek is at 1082 Sandy Creek Rd. off Ga. Bethel’s Eric Johnson to speak at New Gate
Eric Johnson, Bill Johnson’s son from Bethel Church in Redding, Calif., will minister at New Gate Church Saturday evening, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. and Sunday morning, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. There is no charge, only a love offering. Gracepointe Church in Peachtree City will have its free Harvest Carnival on Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at 6 p.m. The event will feature lots of candy, food, games, activities, and fun for the entire family. Gracepoint is at 665 Ga. Hwy. 74 South, Peachtree City.

Woolsey Baptist Fall Festival is Oct. 31
Woolsey Baptist Church’s annual Fall Festival will be Saturday, Oct. 31, from 4:30-7 p.m.and is for all children through sixth grade. A hot dog supper will be served from 5 - 6 p.m. Other features include inflatables, popcorn, Trunk or Treat, cake walk, games and candy, hay ride, and face painting. Halloween with a twist at NFUMC
This year’s Halloween Outreach at North Fayette United Methodist Church will collect food for hungry families while providing fun for children on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, from 5 - 7 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring canned goods or other non perishable food items that will be collected and given to Fayette Samaritans. Costumes are encouraged. Hot dogs and soft drinks, “Trunk or Treat,” and carnival games will be available. North Fayette United Methodist Church is at 847 New Hope Rd. New Hope Baptist plans Fall Festivals
New Hope Baptist Church plans Fall Festival at both North and South campus locations, on Saturday, Oct.31, for preschool through sixth grade children. B’nai Israel schedules 60s, 70s concert
Congregation B’nai Israel in Fayetteville will present “60s & 70s Unplugged,” a concert by Larry and Mindy from Israel featuring warm acoustic renditions of Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, the Everly Brothers and many more on Saturday, Nov. 14.
