Halloween isn’t just about ghosts and goblins! The Frederick Brown Amphitheater will host the “Not so Frightful” Storytelling and Halloween party on October 24 and even Pete the Cat promises to show up and provide fun for children of all ages! The party is scheduled to begin at 4 pm and is a free event. Well known author and song-writer Eric Litwin and illustrator James Dean will headline the “Not so Frightful” Storytelling and Halloween party on October 24th. They are widely recognized for their work in creating Pete the Cat children’s books. This will be a unique performance for both artists as Eric will recite the stories and perform the songs while James Dean simultaneously creates the characters with his illustrations. Local storytellers Jackie Uttley and Ann Wallace will also be spinning tales and additional entertainment on the schedule for the day will include Peachtree School of Dance and local recording artist Lindee Link. Kids and families are invited to participate in the days festivities in several ways. There will be a costume contest at 6 pm, with prizes awarded to winning costumes in two categories. The first category is under 6 years of age and the second is 7 – 12 years. The Fred is also hosting a Jack-O-Lantern decorating contest and those decorated pumpkins will line the walkway down to The Fred.. Individuals submitting decorated pumpkins are asked to drop them off at the Box Office starting on Thurs. Oct. 22 until Friday, Oct. 23 before 5 pm. All pumpkins must be clearly marked on the bottom and include name, age, and contact information. Prizes will be given out to the creepiest, funniest and most creative in two categories. The first category will be for children under 12 and age 13 up to adult. . The Fred walkway will be lit up all aglow for everyone to enjoy the evening of the 24th.
