The McIntosh Players of McIntosh High School will present the one act play, SHOES ALONG THE HIGHWAY , by Maureen Brady Johnson in the high school auditorium on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 23 at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for only $5 per person. The play is about human loss, vulnerability, faith, courage, growth and an awakening. As the family is moving from their California home to Ohio, the oldest son, Jeremy, begins a journey in which he wants to challenge the world to think about how a single shoe can end up along the side of a highway. He uses his photography to draw attention to the stories behind the shoes. But when his photos “speak for themselves,” one of the stories is revealed and Jeremy is not quite prepared for the reality of the story. Under the direction of McIntosh High School’s new theatre director, Bill Murray, the cast includes Will Madden, Rachel Denny, Erin Bozone, Ethan Gallagher, Cole Oslund, Jonathan Campbell, Hannah Herndon, Scott Lauderdale, Michael Reep, Sara Turner, Melissa Manson, Kamron Vaziri, Garrett Smithley, Nathan Pearson, Alex Coleman,Kayley Holloway, Mary Parton, Kseniya Gadleta and Hannah Rich. The technical crew is lead by Stage Manager, Brooke Thompson and Student Assistant Director Raleigh Hudson and includes: Sasha Buchanan, Ashleigh Ross, Jacob Coffey, Amber Blankenship and Oliver McGuire. The cast and crew will compete with the play at the Georgia Theatre Conference to be held in Columbus, Ga. and also in the Region 5 AAAA One Act Play Contest. login to post comments |
